[He was surprised, and happy to receive the plate, reading the note as he savor it. While the easy access to books and other written materials are in his opinion the best thing about the current era - chocolate ranks pretty high up there.

I did, yes! It took a little bit of trial and error but I think they came out okay.

I am probably not the best judge given my relative inexperience with it, but it was quite good, I think.

You don't need experience with something to know whether it's good or bad! I wasn't even sure you'd like the flavor, but chocolate seems really popular this time of year so I'm glad it wasn't awful.
