Mission discussions

Sometimes Ky runs missions and, and I'd like to make sure everyone's on the same page OOCly before logs are put up.

this all sounds good! Ekkehardt will mainly be providing support and healing when needed, and he'll be letting the students lead the mission so they can get some combat experience - he'll only step in if someone's in danger of actually dying.

Depending on how the creature senses 'threats' Maya could hide a second person in her silence (it's not like the monster has real eyes, if all its senses are magic based Maya's silence would make her hard to track). Her hearing would also let her know there was another undead in the area to better keep track of where the beast is. Which covers what she brings to the table.

Because she's a walking escort mission with no combat ability.

Thoughts:

- Killua's in his element here - his training is all about going undetected and finding hidden targets. Getting in without alerting muggles will be cake, and this might be the first time his assassin instincts show up on display.
- Was interested in the prospect of Maya being able to tell that Killua's a trained killer (or at least trained in advanced stealth) based on the sounds of his movements and general poise, since that's a cool flex for her skills.
- Definitely want to get a 1-on-1 conversation with Tyzias in, so Killua can bring up the bounty and weigh whether or not he wants to act on it. In the end, he probably won't try to jeopardize the mission via killing one of his allies.
- Possible hunt flow: Team A (Maya/?) uses silence powers to find the monster and get the jump on it. Team B (?/?) fight it until it runs away. When it runs, Killua cuts off its escape and jumps in for an execution.

Sound viable?

Maya's absolutely about flexing her powers on everyone just to make it clear she's there for a reason since. That's her reason.

Tyzias's powerset is basically a toolbox: given enough time and information, she can craft runespells that are precisely what she needs for victory. Given what information she has on the monster, this'll be her loadout:

A juiced-up version of her normal FOL (fuck-off laser) that has some additional piercing power and creates small, localized explosions to blast off the ablative armor of the horror. In exchange, she's losing her ability to create barriers.

Her "force step," an instantaneous teleport that charges the air displaced by Tyzias's arrival to create a small outward blast. She can also do a charge across normal space with this ability to create a larger blast. It's normally short range, but if she has very precise locational data she can go much farther with a little casting time.

A simple tracking rune that she'll need to get close to apply to the creature's aura, but will give her enough of a location to teleport if somebody can keep it in one place long enough.

If Tyzias is backed into a corner, she can activate a transformation that's basically the Ultimate Shield from FMA, although it also increases her strength and agility. She can't maintain this for more than a minute a day without having some pretty bad side effects, though, so this is definitely a last resort.

Tyzias is a heavy hitter, but she'll want to observe the creature adding to its mass and its other abilities first before going in for the kill, which may be a problem. In addition, the moment she steps outside of Daybreak Academy, her movements are being tracked by a lot of people who want her very dead. The mission may be interrupted by one of those parties, if everybody's down for it.

Tyzias is normally way too tired to be scared about things, but if she hears the name Zoldyck and Killua ever-so-casually brings up he might try to target her... yeah, she's gonna be terrified. The Zoldycks obviously never killed her, but they got the closest out of everyone to putting her in the ground. And a lot of people are after Tyzias.

She's probably going to discreetly teleport to where Killua is taking out the monster to observe how he fights, and spend the mission after their conversation staring directly at him with her goggles on to get as much data on any other powers that he may have--which may or may not work, depending on whether or not she can detect Killua's latent(?) Flame abilities. If she can find them, Tyzias is probably going to play to her biggest strength and spend lots of time figuring out a way to suppress and negate them.

It's less of a grenade and more of a concentrated burst of high concussive force that's localized to a small area--around the size of a human fist. It's designed to blast away armor and travels through solid mass very well, but doesn't do so good while traveling through air, so a cave-in shouldn't be a concern--unless the thing proves to be fast enough to evade one of the lasers, it misses, and hits the catacomb walls. Oh, what a terrible thing to happen. (Tyzias would actually feet super guilty for this.)

I'll throw an ask up on the FAQ about whether or not latent Flame can be sensed. If not, his 'powers' are 100% mundane, but VERY high-skill. Not sure whether that counts as good news or bad news for Tyzias.

100% bad news. The Zoldycks are probably trained in fighting mages and negating their advantages, and while Tyzias technically isn't a mage, she functions very similarly to one. If she can't sense anything, Tyzias is going to spend an unhealthy amount of time--literally--juicing up her transformation and practicing with it. She'll probably also work on other physical enhancement spells, but the important part is that Killua's mere presence is going to be enough to force Tyzias's first permanent transformation.
